Polymer Foams and Lightweight Materials – Training Services – This training program explores the science, processing, and applications of polymer foams and lightweight materials. It covers the chemistry and structure of foamed polymers, including thermoplastic and thermoset foams, as well as advanced cellular materials. Participants will learn about manufacturing techniques such as extrusion foaming, injection molding foams, and chemical/mechanical blowing agents. The course also highlights key properties like low density, thermal insulation, and energy absorption, along with applications in packaging, automotive, aerospace, construction, and biomedical devices. Special focus is given to sustainable foams and recycling approaches for lightweight materials.
