1] About the Hackathon

The International Hackathon on Corporate and International Law Innovations 2026, organized by Mastering Up, aims to bridge the gap between law, technology, and policy by encouraging innovative approaches to global legal challenges.

This three-day online hackathon invites law students, legal professionals, technologists, and policymakers to develop solutions that improve corporate governance, compliance systems, contract automation, cross-border dispute resolution, and digital law enforcement.

Participants will conceptualize digital legal tools, policy models, or AI-enabled solutions that enhance transparency, accessibility, and fairness within both corporate and international law frameworks.

2] Problem Statements / Tracks

Track 1: AI in Legal Document Review

Manual legal document review is time-consuming and error-prone.
💡 Expected Solution: Develop an AI-driven tool that can automatically review, summarize, and flag key clauses and compliance risks in contracts.

Track 2: Blockchain for Corporate Transparency

Corporate fraud and data manipulation remain major global issues.
💡 Expected Solution: Create a blockchain-based system ensuring transparent and tamper-proof company filings, financial records, and shareholder communications.

Track 3: Cross-Border Data Protection Compliance

Companies struggle to comply with multiple global privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA, etc.).
💡 Expected Solution: Build a compliance management platform that maps and aligns data handling practices with international privacy standards.

Track 4: Smart Arbitration Platforms

Traditional arbitration is costly and slow.
💡 Expected Solution: Design an online dispute resolution system integrating AI, smart contracts, and video evidence validation for quicker settlement of international disputes.

Track 5: Digital Corporate Governance

Corporate boards lack real-time monitoring tools for ethics and sustainability.
💡 Expected Solution: Propose a dashboard system that tracks ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) indicators and compliance in multinational corporations.

Track 6: Automated Legal Research and Citation Tool

Legal research remains tedious across jurisdictions.
💡 Expected Solution: Develop an NLP-powered legal search engine that identifies relevant case laws and precedents globally, ensuring accurate citations.

Track 7: Cyber Law and Digital Crime Prevention

Rising digital crimes demand global enforcement collaboration.
💡 Expected Solution: Create a framework or platform for international cooperation on cybercrime reporting, evidence tracking, and digital forensics.

Track 8: Smart Contract Compliance in Cross-Border Trade

Global trade contracts face compliance challenges due to jurisdictional differences.
💡 Expected Solution: Design a smart contract system using blockchain that enforces trade agreements based on multi-jurisdictional rules.

Track 9: AI-Based Corporate Ethics Monitoring

Ethical violations in corporations often go undetected.
💡 Expected Solution: Develop an AI tool that monitors internal communications or reports to flag potential compliance or ethical violations anonymously.

Track 10: Individual Student Innovation

Open category for students to present innovative legal-tech ideas in corporate or international law.
💡 Expected Solution: Prototype, policy proposal, or research model integrating law, technology, and social impact.

• Team Size: 2–4 Members

• Open to law students, researchers, professionals, and tech innovators worldwide.

• Teams must maintain ethical standards, originality, and respect for intellectual property.

• Plagiarized or previously published work will not be accepted.

• Participants must submit final projects before the stipulated deadline.
