Computational Optics and Photonics with Python/MATLAB – Training Services provides participants with the tools to model, simulate, and analyze optical and photonic systems using computational methods. The training covers wave optics, Fourier optics, diffraction, interference, and light–matter interactions, implemented with Python and MATLAB. Participants will learn to design and simulate optical components such as lenses, gratings, waveguides, and photonic crystals. The course emphasizes numerical methods including beam propagation, finite-difference time-domain (FDTD), and spectral methods for solving Maxwell’s equations in optical contexts. Visualization of wavefronts, intensity distributions, and photonic structures is integrated throughout. By the end, participants will be able to computationally investigate and optimize optical and photonic systems for research and engineering applications.
