Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (EDS) – Training Services focuses on equipping participants with the knowledge and skills to perform elemental analysis using EDS in combination with SEM or TEM. The training covers the principles of X-ray generation, detector systems, spectral data acquisition, and qualitative as well as quantitative analysis techniques. Learners will gain practical experience in preparing samples, optimizing operating conditions, and interpreting complex spectra with accuracy. Special emphasis is placed on applications in materials science, metallurgy, nanotechnology, geology, and forensic investigations. The course also addresses challenges such as peak overlaps, detection limits, and mapping techniques for elemental distribution. By the end of the training, participants will be proficient in applying EDS for advanced material characterization and research.
