Forensic Chemistry of Adhesives and Tapes – Training Services provides specialized training on the chemical and physical analysis of adhesive materials used as forensic evidence. The course covers the composition and properties of pressure-sensitive adhesives, hot-melt adhesives, and tapes, including their polymers, resins, and additives. Participants will learn analytical techniques such as Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), Raman spectroscopy, gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC–MS), and microscopy for adhesive characterization and comparison. Emphasis is placed on proper evidence collection, contamination prevention, and linking adhesive samples to specific sources or crime scenes. Case studies illustrate real-world applications in burglary investigations, packaging fraud, and trace evidence analysis.
