Forensic Chemistry of Heavy Metals and Toxic Elements – Training Services provides in-depth training on the detection, analysis, and interpretation of toxic elements in forensic investigations. Participants will study the chemical properties, toxicological impacts, and environmental persistence of heavy metals such as lead, mercury, arsenic, and cadmium. The course covers modern analytical methods including atomic absorption spectroscopy, inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS), and X-ray fluorescence for precise quantification. Emphasis is placed on casework applications in poisoning, environmental contamination, occupational exposure, and product safety violations. Trainees will also learn about regulatory standards, chain-of-custody protocols, and the role of forensic chemists in presenting expert testimony related to toxic metal evidence.
