Forensic Chemistry of Poisons and Toxins – Training Services provides focused training on the chemical identification, behavior, and forensic interpretation of poisons and toxic agents encountered in criminal and clinical investigations. The course covers toxicokinetics, mechanisms of toxicity, sample collection from biological matrices, and stability concerns for volatile and labile compounds. Participants will learn analytical approaches such as GC–MS, LC–MS/MS, immunoassays, and high-resolution mass spectrometry for sensitive and specific toxin detection. Emphasis is placed on interpreting toxicological findings, distinguishing post-mortem changes from ante-mortem exposure, and understanding dose–response relationships in a medicolegal context. The training also addresses legal admissibility, chain-of-custody, quality assurance, and reporting standards for forensic toxicology. Case studies and real-world examples illustrate investigative strategies for poisoning incidents, deliberate or accidental exposures, and environmental toxin assessments. By combining theory with practical laboratory insights, this program equips practitioners to accurately detect, quantify, and interpret poisons and toxins in forensic casework.
