Magnetic Circular Dichroism (MCD) – Training Services

Magnetic Circular Dichroism (MCD) – Training Services provides participants with an in-depth understanding of the principles and applications of MCD in molecular and material characterization. The training explores how magnetic fields influence circularly polarized light absorption to reveal detailed information about electronic transitions, spin states, and symmetry properties of molecules. Participants will study instrumentation setup, data interpretation, and complementary use of MCD with UV-Vis and other spectroscopic methods. Case studies include applications in bioinorganic chemistry, coordination complexes, metalloenzymes, and advanced materials. By the end of the course, learners will be proficient in applying MCD for structural, electronic, and magnetic property investigations.
