Photonic Bandgap Materials – Training Services

Photonic Bandgap Materials – Training Services introduces the concept of materials engineered to control the propagation of light through periodic dielectric structures. The training covers the physics of photonic bandgaps, design principles of one-, two-, and three-dimensional photonic crystals, and methods for fabricating these structures. Participants will learn how photonic bandgap materials manipulate light in ways similar to how semiconductors control electrons. Applications in waveguides, optical filters, LEDs, lasers, and optical communication systems are emphasized. Practical sessions include computational modeling of band structures, simulations of light confinement, and design exercises for photonic crystal devices.
