Semiconductor Lasers – Training Services

Semiconductor Lasers – Training Services focuses on the principles, design, and applications of laser diodes and related semiconductor-based laser systems. The training covers the physics of electron-hole recombination, bandgap engineering, optical confinement, and threshold conditions for lasing. Participants will explore different structures such as edge-emitting lasers, vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers (VCSELs), distributed feedback (DFB) lasers, and quantum well/quantum dot lasers. Emphasis is placed on fabrication techniques, efficiency optimization, modulation methods, and integration with photonic circuits. Application areas include optical communication, data storage, medical diagnostics, sensing, industrial processing, and consumer electronics. The course also addresses reliability, thermal management, and safety considerations in semiconductor laser deployment.
