International Conference on Oceanography and Climate Change
1] Conference Introduction
In an era of rapidly evolving climate dynamics, the world’s oceans play a central and complex role in regulating planetary systems, supporting biodiversity and sustaining human livelihoods. The International Conference on Oceanography and Climate Change invites researchers, policymakers, marine scientists, environmental professionals and industry stakeholders to a hybrid forum on 3 October 2026 to explore critical intersections between ocean processes, climate change impacts and sustainable responses. From changing sea surface temperatures, acidification, sea level rise, marine ecosystem resilience, to policy frameworks and regional case studies — this conference offers a global stage to share innovation, debate challenges and foster collaboration.
2] Conference Objective
The objectives of this conference are:
-
To bring together a multidisciplinary global community of oceanographers, climatologists, marine biologists, environmental scientists, engineers and decision-makers to exchange knowledge on ocean–climate interactions.
-
To highlight latest research, case-studies and innovations about how climate change is affecting oceans (physical, chemical, biological, geochemical) and how ocean changes are feeding back into climate systems.
-
To encourage translational dialogue between science, policy and practice: connecting oceanographic research, climate change mitigation/adaptation, marine conservation, coastal planning and sustainable development.
-
To provide a platform for early-career researchers, students and professionals to present their work, receive feedback, network globally and build partnerships across disciplines.
-
To promote understanding of how to leverage ocean science for actionable outcomes — such as climate resilience in coastal communities, marine ecosystem management, adaptation strategies and policy frameworks for the blue economy.
3] Conference Outcome
Participants can expect the following outcomes from the conference:
-
Presentation of high-quality peer-reviewed research papers, poster sessions and invited talks covering state-of-the-art in oceanography and climate change.
-
Publication opportunities: Selected full-papers will be invited for publication in reputable Scopus and Web of Science/SCI-indexed journals (see section 8 below) for enhanced international recognition.
-
Networking and collaboration opportunities with researchers, professionals, policymakers, industry stakeholders and NGOs around the world — laying the foundation for future joint projects, research initiatives and policy engagement.
-
Enhanced understanding of emerging and urgent ocean-climate issues — e.g., sea level rise, acidification, marine heatwaves, carbon sequestration in oceans, coastal adaptation, marine ecosystem services — and insights into practical, policy-relevant responses.
-
Certificate of participation (for all delegates) and certificate of presentation/publication eligibility (for presenting authors) — enhancing professional credentials and visibility.
-
Practical take-aways for institutions, governments, industry and communities on how to integrate ocean & climate research into plan development, decision-making, adaptation strategies and sustainable marine governance.
4] Call for Papers – List of Topics
We invite authors to submit original research papers, review articles, case studies or implementation-reports related (but not limited) to the following themes:
